100 Years of Hermann Zapf

100 posters to honor this anniversary

2018 in occasion of the 100th anniversary of Hermann Zapf,

the 1st semester students of the Faculty of Design and Art of the Free University of Bozen Bolzano Italy designed an experiential Poster exhibition with100 posters.

All the100 posters play with the initials H & Z.
The black posters (H) are screen printed. The white posters (Z) are printed digitally. The project reflects Hermann Zapf's work in the field of tension between «Calligraphy Art» and the «Digital Revolution». The posters have been designed with modulated halftone screens. Each poster bears in the «Header» a word that illustrates a facet of Hermann Zapf's life. This project is in homage to an outstanding designer personality of the past century.
